Graduate School of Informatics Course Performance Award Criteria

 

Criteria for Master (with thesis), Master (without thesis) and Ph.D. Students:

For each graduate program under the Graduate School of Informatics, students who are in their 3rd or 4th semester in the evaluation period,

1. An award is given to a Master's, a Non-Thesis Master's and a PhD student who completes 7 courses and 21 credits with the highest average, provided that the GPA is above 3.75, within a certain period of time after being accepted to the program, including the Scientific Preparation period.

2. For students who are exempt from the Scientific Preparation program or in programs that do not have a Scientific Preparation program, this period is 2 semesters. For every 6 credits required to be taken in the Scientific Preparation program, 1 semester is added to this period.

3. The student's transcript must not contain a failing grade from any course (including ethics, seminar, thesis courses) except for courses taken with Not Included (NI) status.

4. The student cannot receive an award even if substitution is made for the unsuccessful course.

5. Except for the courses taken in the Scientific Preparation program with Not Included (NI) status and counted towards the program, students who complete their course load by having the courses taken before the start date of the program they are enrolled in cannot receive an award.

6. Non-credit courses are outside the scope of the 7 courses and 21 credit load specified in Article 1.

7. After being accepted to the program, students who have taken leave and students who have an unregistered semester will not be evaluated except to the reasons like participation in exchange programs such as Erasmus+, health and natural disasters, etc.

Criteria for Integrated Doctoral Students

For each graduate program under the Graduate School of Informatics, students who are in their 5th or 6th semester in the evaluation period,

1. An award is given to a Master's, a Non-Thesis Master's and a PhD student who completes 14 courses and 42 credits with the highest average, provided that the GPA is above 3.75, within a certain period of time after being accepted to the program, including the Scientific Preparation period.

2. For students who are exempt from the Scientific Preparation program or in programs that do not have a Scientific Preparation program, this period is 4 semesters. For every 6 credits required to be taken in the Scientific Preparation program, 1 semester is added to this period.
