Proficiency Exam Regulations

IS100 - Introduction to Information Technologies and Applications is a must-course that students have to take in the first year of their undergraduate education.

Students may be exempt from the course and receive an "EX" grade if they pass the IS100 Proficiency Exam. The proficiency exam is an online exam and conducted three times a year, in September, February and May. The proficiency exams given in September and February are held on the day(s) before the interactive registrations and the one given in May is held before the final exams. The exact dates can be found in the academic calendar of the corresponding year.

Students can take IS100 Proficiency Exam at most two times by the regular semester they have to take the course. After preparatory class, students are automatically registered to IS100 at the beginning of the regular semester that their department has to take the course. We highly recommend students take the proficiency exam. Once a student is registered for the course, he/she cannot take the proficiency exam again in the following semesters.
